Easy Salmon Sinigang (Filipino Comfort Food You Can Make Anywhere)

this is how I make sinigang when I’m not close to an Asian grocery store.

I always keep tamarind packets and fish sauce at home, and the rest are ingredients I can grab from any regular grocery store.

it’s one of those meals I grew up with, and this version makes it easy to recreate whenever I’m craving it, no matter where I am

  • 1/2 white onion, chopped
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2–3 tbsp fish sauce (adjust to taste)

  • 1 packet tamarind soup base powder
  • green beans (handful or to preference)
  • 1 bag spinach
